start-up registration 2017
1. IMPORTANT INFORMATION
A) Programme
The Start-Up Innovation Camp starts on Tuesday evening, 2 May 2017 at 8 pm in the hotel bar (Penthouse) and ends on Friday, 4 May 2017 around 5 pm.
Your presence is obligatory from Wednesday 8 am until Friday noon.

B) Qualification
The winner of each category will be announced on Wednesday evening at the Kitchen Party in the Hotel Montana in Lucerne. As the winners will present their business models on the main stage of World Tourism Forum Lucerne (WTFL) on 4 or 5 May 2017, each Start-Up has to stay in Lucerne until Friday noon. Please inform Clarissa (clarissa.amrein@wtflucerne.org) if this is not possible for you.
C) Start-Up Representatives
Two representatives from each Start-Up are invited to join the Start-Up Innovation Camp on 3 May 2017 and World Tourism Forum Lucerne on 4 - 5 May 2017.
D) Flight costs
WTFL covers the flight cost (economy) of one representative (max. CHF 1'000). Please send your flight proposal with the ticket price to Clarissa (clarissa.amrein@wtflucerne.org). After her approval you can book your flight and send an invoice to her. If we get a better rate for your planned itinerary, we will reserve the right to book the flight for you.
E) Accommodation
We offer a hotel room (double bedroom) at the venue hotel (Hotel Astoria) for each Start-Up from Tuesday, 2 May until Friday, 5 May. Additional nights have to be covered by the Start-Up (CHF 250 + tax per night).
F) Ground Transportation
There is a direct train connection from the airport Zurich (ZRH) to the city of Lucerne. Your train tickets are offered by the WTFL. Daniela (daniela.albisser@wtflucerne.org) will send you a separate link by mid of April where you can order your train ticket (return ticket from Zurich airport to Lucerne). G) Visa
Switzerland requires a visa for certain foreign nationalities. Please visit the website of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs to find out if and how you need to apply for a visa. The visa application is within your responsibility.
H) PITCH
You will pitch to the jury and investors on Wednesday morning, 3 May. The pitch should last five minutes. Please send your pitch (PDF or powerpoint) to Clarissa until latest 21 April 2017. The winner of each category will have the opportunity to present his/her business five minutes on the main stage of World Tourism Forum Lucerne 2017 (Thursday, 4 May or Friday, 5 May). You are free to use the same presentation (as the pitch) or to create a new presentation for the 5 minutes of fame at WTFL 2017. Please ensure a high quality of your pitch/presentation.
I) Panel discussion
On Friday afternoon at 3.30 pm there will be an Innovation Roundtable on the main stage of World Tourism Forum Lucerne 2017 together with judges, experts and sponsors of the Start-Up innovation Camp. If you would like to be participate in this roundtable please indicate in the check-in form (see point 2).
J) Poster
For the exhibition in the venue of World Tourism Forum Lucerne, we ask you to prepare a poster (PDF, A1 format, portrait format) about your Start-Up. This is an excellent opportunity to present your Start-Up to an international audience. The poster should highlight your business idea, target group and outlook. You are free how you create your poster. Please send your template to Clarissa (clarissa.amrein@wtflucerne.org) until 21 April 2017.
