Urs W. Studer, Mayor City of Lucerne

The mayor is a member of the City Council and chairs its meetings. Like the other members of the Council, he has the right to vote at these meetings. In addition, the mayor is the head of all personnel employed by the city of Lucerne. He represents the city at official events and maintains ties with other communities in Switzerland and abroad, for example, with the sister cities. Mayor Studer is concomitantly the director of the education department (which encompasses primary and secondary education, the music schools, the culture and sport department, as well as oral health care for children and youth).
