Talent Management
It is indispensible for every company today and in the future to foster young talents by developing their strengths and abilities – the very reason why talent management has been chosen as one of the five main strategic commitments of World Tourism Forum Lucerne.
Talent management consists of two parts:
1. Next Generation
2. Young Talents
1. Next Generation
The Next Generation programme is a commitment to future leaders in travel and tourism. World Tourism Forum Lucerne is the only global event in the field of travel and tourism where integrating tomorrow’s industry leaders is given a high priority. Next Generation offers an ideal opportunity for CEOs and chairpersons to have their best talents forge important business contacts with peers and current leaders in the field. Participants of the Next Generation will not mere accompany their senior colleagues, they will be fully integrated into the Forum Programme and play an active role.
Share some of your free time with your selected young talent, who will benefit personally by becoming motivated to work for you in future. Use this unique opportunity to foster your talents in due time because Lucerne is the place to connect with current and future leaders.
Candidates for Next Generation must fulfil the following criteria:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience at a multinational tourism company.
- Candidates are usually younger than 35 years.
- Responsibility for either several employees or for a considerable budget.
- Candidates always accompany a senior leader working for the same organisation.
- Registration is only possible after the enrolment of a senior colleague.
- The registration fee for the Next Generation Programme is CHF 950.-
2. Young Talents
World Tourism Forum Lucerne enjoyed remarkable success when it launched the Young Talents Programme as part of the first Forum in April 2009. The programme offered five selected tourism students the opportunity to participate in the Forum. They were purposefully integrated into the programme of the Forum and were given an attractive opportunity to launch their professional career. Due to the positive experience, the Young Talent Programme will again be an important element at World Tourism Forum 2011.
World Tourism Forum 2011 is looking forward to inviting six tourism students of our partner schools to the Forum. Our partner schools are an exclusive circle of carefully selected schools, all of whom are highly ranked.
The six chosen Young Talents will gain a thorough understanding of the Forum 2011's Sustainability in Tourism topic and learn to integrate the concepts when starting their career. An intense exchange of ideas with managers from all over the world will be enormously enriching and will help them to further develop their personal network.
The exclusive circle of partner schools in the Young Talents Programme includes the following:
