Siegfried Gerlach, CEO Siemens Switzerland

Siegfried Gerlach was born in Essingen (Germany). He studied mathematics at the University of Tübingen (Germany) and graduated in 1979 from the Oregon State University (US) and worked for a software company in the subsequent years. In February 1998, he took over the lead of the software house at Siemens Switzerland and moved on to become leader of Siemens Transportation Systems in October 1999.

From June 2004 until September 2005, Siegfried Gerlach was leader of the business unit Mass Transit and responsible for the project Combino at Siemens Ltd. Erlangen. He returned to Siemens Switzerland as COO in October 2005 and finally was named CEO of Siemens Switzerland in July 2008.
