Kurt Zibung, Cantonal Councilor Canton of Schwyz

Kurt Zibung graduated in economics from the University of St. Gallen. After teaching for 4 years, he became headmaster at the business school of Lachen. From 1982 until 1996, Zibung worked for the municipality of Lachen at the shores of Lake Zurich.

In 1996, he was elected member of the Cantonal government in Schwyz, as the minister for education. He has been minister for Economic Affairs with the Canton of Schwyz since 2004, including his presidency of the Canton of Schwyz 2004 – 2006.

Zibung is also president of the Technical University of Applied Sciences in Rapperswil, member of the board of trustees in the Greater Zurich Area and president of the board of ministers of the cantons of central Switzerland.
