Prof. Dr. Jürg Stettler, Head of the Institute of Tourism, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts

Since 1999 Jürg Stettler has been Director of the Lucerne University Institute for Tourism Economy (ITW), where he was appointed Research Director in 2002 and Vice-Chancellor in 2005.

He graduated in business administration and political economy at Berne University, where in 1997 he attained his doctorate at the Research Institute for Leisure and Tourism with a thesis entitled “Sport and Mobility”.

Apart from teaching, his activities at the Institute for Tourism Economy mainly include heading up research and consulting projects in the areas of sports economy (in particular studies on the economic impacts of sports events), destination management, leisure and tourism.
