Johannes Kluehspies, PhD, Divisional Head of the "Mobility Competence Centre", Institute of Tourism, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts

Foto%20Internet.jpgJohannes Kluehspies, PhD, serves as the divisional head of the "Mobility Competence Centre" at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland. He is a scientific member of the "Center of Excellence for High Performance Railways and Maglev Systems" at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany. Johannes Kluehspies has published several studies on high speed transportation systems with focus on technology assessment, spatial and urban planning issues. He holds a Master's Degree in Urban Transport and Geography at the Technical University of Munich, Germany and a doctorate at the University of Bochum in Transport Geography. In 2007 he received a post-doctorate (Dr. habilitatus) at the University of Leipzig, for the scientific thesis "The future prospects of mobility".

Provided with a German State Scholarship, Johannes Kluehspies spent several years in Japan as a researcher about future transport (public transport, traffic management) and spatial development (train station shopping malls, urban renewal, leisure facilities).
