Franz Steinegger, President of the Swiss Tourism Federation

Franz Steinegger studied jurisprudence in Zurich and became a solicitor and notary public. From 1980 until 2003 Franz Steinegger represented canton Uri in the Nation Council, and from 1989 until 2001 he was president of the FPD Schweiz (Free Democratic Party Switzerland). Franz Steinegger is Board Chairman of SUVA (Swiss Accident Prevention Association), HIG real estate investment foundation, Baryon AG and CSC Impresa Costruzione SA, Vice Chairman of the Board Siemens Schweiz AG, and Board member Pöyry Oyi, Dätwyler Holding AG, NZZ and LZ Medien Holding AG. He is also Vice President of the Rega (Swiss Air Rescue Foundation).
