Alexander E. Lebedev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC National Reserve Corporation

Alexander E. Lebedev graduated from prestigious Moscow State Institute of Foreign Affairs with a major in international economic relations. In 1983, he worked at the Institute of the World Socialist System Economics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. He then went to the European department of the Foreign Ministry's central office and spent five years at the Russian Soviet Embassy in London. In 1995, he acquired Nationalny Reservny Bank and became its president and CEO. Until 2007, he was a member of the State Duma (Parliament), where he was known for his criticism of corruption in Moscow and his struggle to rein in Russia's massive gambling industry.
