World Tourism Forum Lucerne is a non-profit organisation in the form of an association. It is led by a Management Board of which each member is also a founder. In matters relating to content, the Management Board relies on the support of an Advisory Board.

The association that manages World Tourism Forum Lucerne is located at the Institute of Tourism of Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, which also organises and hosts the Forum. The Institute of Tourism is a leader in Switzerland in the field of applied research and industry consulting. The Forum's manager is Prof. Martin Barth.

Founders

The initiative for the Founders was taken by the Tourism Forum Lucerne, Lucerne Events and Lucerne Hotels. The Institute of Tourism (ITW) and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts have played a leading role in getting the Forum started and continue to serve in an advisory capacity.

  • Tourism Forum Lucerne promotes tourism for the City of Lucerne and central Switzerland by offering individuals and legal entities, as well as interested institutions, organisations and authorities, a platform for industrial development.
  • Lucerne Events is a project organisation that sponsors the Canton and Lucerne Fair, and it promotes events in Lucerne and supports promising projects during the initial phase.
  • Lucerne Hotels is the professional organisation of hoteliers of the City of Lucerne and the surrounding region. The organisation provides essential services to the local hospitality industry and acts as the leading communication partner within the market.
